FLORIDA SUNCOAST CHAPTER
Now expanding to Florida's Suncoast.
Reading is the single most important skill a child needs to succeed. Our mission at Bernie's Book Bank is to supply children who need them with free high-quality books to build in-home libraries of their very own. Since 2009, we have delivered over 28 million books, and we’re not stopping there.
Bernie's Book Bank is officially expanding into the Florida Suncoast community intending to serve all qualifying 330,000 children.
Measurable Impact: A recent 5-year Randomized Control Trial was conducted in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools and Bernie’s Book Bank. The report concluded a statistically significant impact on student reading achievement, as well as positive impacts on related outcomes. Even better, the effect appears to grow over time.
Counties we plan to serve: Charlotte, Citrus, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota.
